Mobile application and photographs

Who uses the app. The LifeViz® Neo mobile application is a companion app to LifeViz® Neo Cloud, intended for healthcare and aesthetic professionals and their staff. It is not intended for consumers, and the people photographed (“subjects”) do not use the app. The app is free to download. It requires signing in with a LifeViz® Neo Cloud user account, under an active subscription, to access the Institution’s database.

What face data we collect. The app uses the device camera to let users capture standardized photographs of subjects, including photographs of the face, for photographic documentation and visual comparison over time. An on-screen positioning guide helps the user position the subject consistently. The only face data collected is the photograph the user chooses to capture.

Consent. The professional user, as data controller, is responsible for informing subjects and obtaining their consent before capturing their photographs.

How we use photographs . Photographs are used for photographic documentation and visual comparison by the organization that captured them.

Sharing. Photographs are not shared with any third party, including advertising, analytics or data broker services. Only authorized users of the organization that captured them can access them. Quartier Latin support staff may access data only at the organization’s request, to resolve a support issue, and under its supervision. Our hosting providers supply the server infrastructure only and have no access to, or use of, the photographs.

Storage. Photographs are sent over an encrypted connection (TLS) to Quartier Latin’s secure servers, hosted by certified health data hosting providers (HDS) in France, where they are encrypted at rest.

Retention and deletion. Photographs are retained for as long as the organization’s subscription with Quartier Latin is active. The organization, as data controller, can delete photographs at any time from within the LifeViz® Neo platform. When a subscription ends, the organization keeps read-only access for three months to export its data. Upon the organization’s specific written request, Quartier Latin deletes the subjects’ data within three months. Subjects exercise their rights of access and erasure through the professional who photographed them, who is the data controller; Quartier Latin assists the professional in handling these requests. Our data protection officer can be reached at dpo@qlatin.com.
